Certificate of Authenticity

The only way in which collectors, dealers and enthusiast's can guarantee 100% that the item is authentic is to have witnessed the celebrity signing the item firsthand.

Most collectors assume that as long as the autographed item which they are about to purchase is accompanied with a certificate of authenticity means that the item is genuine. In Fact many cases we have encountered collectors who would prefer a certificate of authenticity to a signed purchase invoice.

Wrong! The certificate of authenticity is only as good as the person or company who issued it. Always obtain a signed and dated receipt when purchasing autographed items. A signed and dated receipt will assist you, unlike a certificate of authenticity should you require legal assistance if the item you purchased is found to be fraudulent.

The Australian Autograph Library offers manufacturers and producers of autographed collectables and memorabilia the service of having their autograph signing independently witnessed and documented by one of Australia's leading forensic examiners. Each Autograph signing session witnessed by the Library is then logged into the Signature Data Base for future verification. Be Careful when visiting and purchasing autographed items from On Line Collectors & Dealers, or On Line Auctions. Try to establish whether the person who is selling you the Autograph is a reputable dealer or collector with feedback comments and preferably a Member of an Autograph Club.
